Walking Tour: Mason to Water Street

Brunswick’s Mason and Water Streets seem like side stories to central arteries of downtown, but in fact they have an incredibly rich history, from indigenous use of the land and river to development of the town and growth of industry, to the economic and social lives of residents over the past 250+ years. This tour includes stories about a clockmaker, a dynamic businesswoman, a burning church, significant architecture, the Masons, the town Poor Farm, a park named for a resident, and much more.

Tour begins in the Bangor Savings Bank parking lot on the corner of Maine and Mason. The round-trip walk is approximately a mile.
