Music on the Mall Summer Concert Series

Music on the Mall, Downtown Brunswick’s Summer Concert Series, presents FREE concerts Wednesday evenings at 6 PM throughout the summer on the Brunswick Town Mall (Green- see map). 

Grab a blanket or chair, bring your family and friends, order a picnic dinner or dine at a local Brunswick restaurant, then relax and enjoy great music. In the case of inclement weather, check back here for updates or check our Facebook page at

June 30Dave Bullard Band - Country, rock, blues
July 7 Cilantro - Classics from the past 50 years with blended harmonies and delicate instrumentation.
July 14Delta Knights - Based in Portland, Maine and specializing in the best of R & B, blues, classic rock and swing.
July 21Jimmy Jo and the Jumbol’Ayuhs - Based in Phippsburg, the Jumbol'Ayuhs serve up music from Cajun Louisiana with a Downeast accent.
July 28Pat Colwell and the Soul Sensations- A powerful mix of Motown/Memphis Soul Music
August 4Pete Kilpatrick Band - Maine based singer/songwriter. His work is a blend of folk and pop rock music, playing a variety of originals blended in with covers ranging from classics to more modern songs.

Brunswick’s Downtown ArtWalk!

2nd Friday Brunswick will occur from 4 to 7 p.m. on June 11, July 9, August 13, September 10, 2021.

Event festivities will include an ArtWalk with over 20 artist displays outside on the sidewalks and in several downtown retail shops. Please join us as we take advantage of Brunswick’s wide sidewalks to host a variety of artists and musicians for four 2nd Friday ArtWalks.  See the art and meet the artists along Maine Street  and beyond, visit our unique and artistic shops, and enjoy Brunswick’s many outside and inside dining opportunities! We ask participants to wear masks where required and  practice safe social distancing as needed.

Businesses hosting artists:
The Mix – Hosting Freeport artist, Jennifer Pope. Jen combines her love of nature and a unique use of color to create beautiful paintings from her travels in the Midcoast area and beyond. We are excited to welcome Eight Balls Band back and can’t wait to share their music with you
Hatch On Maine Hosting two Fiber Artists:  Judy Wylie, a rug hooking fiber artist designing and hooking hand-dyed and “as-is” wool strips onto linen backing and Theresa Green, whose designs with wool, silk and hand spun yarn include rugs and wall art with some pieces  are inspired by the Maine shoreline.
Bayview Gallery –  Bayview’s August exhibit is titled, “Of Woods and Waters” featuring Cadillac Mountain View by Robert Colburn and Incoming Tide by Tom Hughes among other pieces. Open until 7 PM during ArtWalk.
Grampa’s Garden – Hosting Emily Hollister with extra-ordinary Portraiture and Photographer, Greg Gallant with Maine themed prints.
Points of View Artists, POV Artist Judith Long and guest artist Burke Long present Monochrome Unbounded – an exhibit of photographs & handmade prints, each created in tones of a single color.  3rd floor, Alan Mast shares his paintings in Intersections: Forms Observed – Forms Abstracted. Artist Reception: 5 to 7 PM.
Little Dog Coffee Shop – TBD
Lemont Block Collective – A community collective, featuring amazing local Maine-based artists and makers. Open until 7 PM.
FIORE Artisan Olive Oils & Vinegars – Hosts Wayne Sanford and “Inside Firewood”. Releasing the inner beauty of firewood. Unique, sculptural items handcrafted from Maine hardwoods for visual and tactile appeal.
Root Rind & Petal – Featuring artist John Fitzpatrick. John grew up in Brunswick and studied figure drawing, painting and sculpture in college.
Spindleworks Art Center – Mixed studio. Art in a variety of mediums available for sale.

  • Karl Saila: Fine Maine watercolors and cards.
  • Christine Detroy: Rescued, recycled, vintage fabric pillows.

  • Christine Wolff Designs – Stained glass pieces inspired by nature. Stones, shells, and sea glass on large panels. Unique and one-of-a-kind.
  • Jenelle Demers – “200 Faces” custom pet portraits by commission, to immortalize memories of the special animals in people’s lives.
  • Westport Island Pottery – Cool whimsical pottery.
  • Mere Point Soleil – A unique, natural, and non-toxic candle experience with the finest custom-blended scents and all-natural coconut & soy waxes.
  • Writer David Treadwell – David Treadwell and Anneka Williams wrote a book entitled, “A Flash Fiction Exchange Between Methuselah and the Maiden.”
  • Howard Search Art – A fine art photographer and a watercolor artist. His work includes landscapes from Maine and other locations.
  • Joanne Tarlin – Contemporary Oil Paintings. Colorful and Ethereal Expressions of Maine’s Coastlines, Skies, and Land.
  • Lindy Sklover – Modern Vintage Jewelry
  • Pamela Shockey Paintings – Original landscape and still life paintings in oil.
  • Banner Bags – Repurposed banners into bags, totes, and pouches.

Moved from June, this event will recognize the incredible strength and perseverance of our community as we emerge from a time “like no other”.  Join us as we pay special tribute to our local First Responders including fire fighters, police officers, and health care providers.

Free to all. Limit one meal per person.

This year the BDA is teaming up with American Legion Post 20 to mark the 20th Anniversary of 9/11 with a remembrance ceremony followed by live music, food and an opportunity to visit with fellow community members. No seating provided.

Postponed from 2020: BDA Speaker Series presents Behind-the-Scenes with Curt Dale Clark rescheduled to October 26.

It’s Showtime!

Join us for the BDA Speaker Series featuring Curt Dale Clark, Artistic Director of Maine State Music Theater as our Speaker Series goes on the road to the MSMT office at 22 Elm Street,  5:30 to 6:30 PM. Registration and networking begin at 5:00.

Discover the excitement that goes on Behind-the-Scenes of a theatre production at MSMT. From set design, costume creation and lighting to auditions and choreography, we’ll learn how it all comes together.

  • Refreshments: Appetizers, Beverages (wine, beer, and sparkling water).
  • Tours! This is your chance to see MSMT’s prop shop, costume shop, scenery room, welding and paint decks. Tour the recently renovated apprentice quarters.

Rolling Slumber Bed Races

Though the threat of the Covid-19 pandemic continues we are in the process of planning our 2021 Rolling Slumber Bed Races to take place on November 13th at 11 AM on Park Row, Downtown Brunswick.

You won’t have to wonder if you’re dreaming … there WILL be beds racing on Park Row!  In the spirit of Community, families, businesses and local organizations can create a bed to race in this amazing, fun-filled event. The Rolling Slumber Bed Race will delight spectators with fast, funny and uniquely created beds — all on wheels!

Prizes will be awarded for speed, creativity and team spirit. The event is free for spectators. Since the race can be fast-paced, only adults (over age 18) will be able to participate.

If you are interested in participating, we are looking for some bed racing enthusiasts to put on a show, win prizes and bragging rights in the process!  Get your team together now and start planning to create your entry, whether for fun, speed or creativity!  For additional information, please contact the BDA staff at 729-4439

Annual Tree Lighting with Santa

Ring in the season with neighbors and friends at the Brunswick Downtown Association’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony! Brunswick Town Mall, Maine Street, Brunswick.


  • 2 – 5:00: Free horse-drawn wagon rides, hot cocoa, coffee, and cookies.
  • 3:00: Santa and Frosty the Snowman will arrive at 3 PM on a firetruck. Children can visit with Santa in the Gazebo.
  • 4 – 5:00: The Brunswick High School Chorus will sing carols.
  • 5:00: Santa lights the Christmas Tree!
