College Guild is the nation's only provider of free correspondence courses and dictionaries to prisoners around the country. Since 2001, more than 6,000 students have enrolled. A force of 150 volunteer Readers from Bowdoin College to California read and respond thoughtfully to students' writings in a mutually-anonymous and richly rewarding practice.

Improving lives through literacy
We are a group of women who support the AAUW mission to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research. Members have the opportunity to meet other like-minded women at our meetings and social events geared toward their special interests. Our monthly programs feature speakers discussing current events and women’s issues.
Currently the Museum and Gardens are open Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4:00 p.m. Our primary exhibit is a timeline history of the Naval Air Station through photographs dealing with life on the base, the aircraft, squadrons and missions. There are many artifacts to see as well, plus a special exhibit about SERE school—a very realistic training program to show downed pilots and others caught behind enemy lines how to survive, evade, resist and escape their captors. Our flight simulator will let you “fly” just about any aircraft almost anywhere in the world. Do you have what it takes to be a Blue Angel and fly a solo in the Great State of Maine Airshow?”
The Maine Jung Center is a membership-supported, nonprofit organization whose mission is to encourage people to spend time developing a deep understanding of their own individuation process. Celebrating ability! 400 kids and adults with disabilities are assisted to live inclusively in their chosen Maine communities. Spindleworks art studio in Brunswick is creating art, dispelling stereotypes. A non profit art center for adults with disabilities, it engages more than 35 artists who create beautiful and unique works of art. Our store and gallery showcase the work, including drawings and paintings, weaving, sculpture, pottery, poetry and more. Artists receive 75% of the price of any sale. The onsite studios are open to the public to visit during business hours.

Harpswell Coastal Academy is a free public charter school serving students throughout the Mid Coast in grades 6-12. We have two school locations -- Harpswell Neck and Brunswick Landing -- and a population of 200+ students from over a dozen surrounding communities. There are no admissions requirements, but we do have limited space available and admission is decided based on an annual lottery each spring. For students interested in transferring mid-year, please contact us directly. HCA is project-based, place-based and student-driven. The Save Our Swinging Bridge.Org, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit formed in 2008 to ensure the maintenance and beatification of the historic pedestrian bridge connecting Brunswick and Topsham. In 1892, the Swinging Bridge was originally designed and built by the Roebling Co., (legendary designers and constructors of wire rope suspension bridges).
