We strive for a high academic standard. We promote a values-added education by encouraging commitment and self-discipline within a safe environment. Families are encouraged to be involved in the ongoing education for their children. Faculty members are qualified professional leaders who are compassionate to bring out the best in their students as they grow in knowledge, skills and values.
Harpswell Coastal Academy is a free public charter school serving students throughout the Mid Coast in grades 6-12. We have two school locations -- Harpswell Neck and Brunswick Landing -- and a population of 200+ students from over a dozen surrounding communities. There are no admissions requirements, but we do have limited space available and admission is decided based on an annual lottery each spring. For students interested in transferring mid-year, please contact us directly. HCA is project-based, place-based and student-driven. We are deliberately small and fiercely focused on helping our young people, regardless of background, learning style, or any other factor, find a pathway to productive, rewarding citizenship right here in Maine.
