Fireside Writers! 10/25/24-10/26/24 at 10:00 am to 11:00 am

Fireside Writers!

Calling all writers! Join us for Friday morning independent working sessions by the 1904 building fireplace. Work on your own project or use a provided prompt. There is no reading/sharing in this group, just a good time to buckle down and work quietly among the company of other writers. The group is facilitated by Molly McGrath, Curtis Contemporaries Committee member, former publications director of The Telling Room in Portland, and current owner/editor at Pink Eraser Press.

A Poisoning in the Parlor: Halloween Murder Mystery Game

A Poisoning in the Parlor: Halloween Murder Mystery Game

PHC presents “A Poisoning in the Parlor,” a 90-minute murder mystery game inside the Skolfield-Whittier house. As in previous years, guests search throughout the Victorian mansion for clues to solve the mystery.

Attendees may play as individuals, in pairs, or in small groups during one of four sessions: Friday, October 25, at 5PM and 7PM; and Saturday, October 26 at 5PM and 7PM. The 5PM session on Saturday is family-friendly and alcohol-free, while the remaining sessions are 21+ and include cocktails.
All events include themed refreshments.

Each session is limited to 30 total players. Period costumes are encouraged but entirely optional.

Tickets are $25 for PHC members, $30 for the general public for both Friday sessions and the second Saturday session. The Saturday family session is $10 for children and $15 for adults.

We’ll be raffling a free “Bath Iron Works from Land and Sea” cruise for 2 from Maine Maritime Museum and a beautiful print of Park Row by Mary Alice Treworgy. All proceeds from the raffle go towards the Skolfield-Whittier House restoration effort!

With small class sizes, this class offers personalized support and focuses on teaching participants the necessary modifications to move safely and confidently. By building strength, mobility, and balance, participants will develop the skills needed to transition into open-level classes with a strong understanding of how to adapt movements to suit their individual needs.

About Maine Pilates:

Your practice. Your way.

At Maine Pilates, we take care to understand your individual goals and objectives of your practice – whether in classes or private lessons. Our certified teachers always provide alternatives to movements so you can exercise and build on your practice in the way that works for you.

Our atmosphere supports Joseph Pilate’s original intention by thoughtfully integrating the 6 Pilates Principles: Breathe, Flow, Centering, Concentration, Precision, and Control.
