Points of View Artists closes their 2023 season with Transitions, a group exhibit in diverse media that reflects the vibrant colors of our Maine autumn.

Exhibit: Sept 5 – Oct 6.

Reception: Friday, September 8; 5-7 pm.

Free Exhibit - ROBERT McCLOSKEY: The Art of Wonder

Curtis Memorial Library is hosting a free exhibit of nearly 70 original illustrations from Robert McCloskey’s iconic Maine-based children’s books – ONE MORNING IN MAINE, TIME OF WONDER, BURT DOW DEEP-WATER MAN, and turning 75 this year . . . BLUEBERRIES FOR SAL, as well as the Boston classic MAKE WAY FOR DUCKLINGS.

The exhibit is open during library hours, and includes special programming throughout, including readings from Sal McCloskey herself, and drawing workshops led by co-presenters the Illustration Institute. Supported by the STK Foundation, Sherman’s Maine Coast Book Shops, L.L.Bean and Bath Savings Bank. Lemont Block Collective Featured Artists Weekend - Meet the Artists!

The Lemont Block Collective, 150 Maine Street in downtown Brunswick, will feature three local artists during an open house weekend, September 21 through 24. Underwater photographer Jonathan Lavan, driftwood artist Chris Toy, and Tiffany Method glass artist Deborah J. Ripley are each Collective members and Mid Coast residents. The “Featured Artist Weekend” will kick off Thursday evening, September 21st, with a reception in the gallery from 5 pm to 7 pm, highlighted by a brief presentation from each of the artists. Individuals of all ages are encouraged to attend. Light refreshments will be served and limited seating will be available. The Featured Artist Weekend continues through Sunday with expanded displays from each of the featured artists, and opportunities to meet each of them.
