People Plus Senior Health Expo - Registration Open

Registration is now open for the 12th annual People Plus Senior Health Expo, in partnership with Spectrum Generations, to be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the Brunswick Recreation Center in Brunswick from 9 am – 1 pm. Both sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities are available with space for up to 70 vendor tables. Last year’s highly successful gathering, the first in-person Expo since 2019, drew about 600 participants and nearly 80 businesses, services and programs were represented.

Kindred Variations features original prints and photographic variations of those prints by Points of View artist Judith Long and guest artist Burke Long.  The Second Floor Gallery hosts Remembering Mildred Johnson.

Free Exhibit - ROBERT McCLOSKEY: The Art of Wonder

Curtis Memorial Library is hosting a free exhibit of nearly 70 original illustrations from Robert McCloskey’s iconic Maine-based children’s books – ONE MORNING IN MAINE, TIME OF WONDER, BURT DOW DEEP-WATER MAN, and turning 75 this year . . . BLUEBERRIES FOR SAL, as well as the Boston classic MAKE WAY FOR DUCKLINGS.
 
The exhibit is open during library hours, and includes special programming throughout, including readings from Sal McCloskey herself, and drawing workshops led by co-presenters the Illustration Institute.  Supported by the STK Foundation, Sherman’s Maine Coast Book Shops, L.L.Bean and Bath Savings Bank. Music on the Mall Summer Concert Series

Music on the Mall, Downtown Brunswick’s Summer Concert Series, presents FREE concerts Wednesday evenings at 6PM* throughout the summer on the Brunswick Town Mall (Green, see map). Grab a blanket or chair, bring your family and friends, order a picnic dinner or dine at a local Brunswick restaurant, then relax and enjoy great music. FREE Admission. Hosted by the Brunswick Downtown Association!

Due to the rainy weather, tonight’s concert has been rescheduled to tomorrow, Thursday, August 31st at 6 PM!

We hope to see you then for:   Dirty McCurdy – A rockin “4-piece Power Trio” that packs a whole road case full of musical spiked-punch with implements of melodic carnage like Bagpipes, Saxophone, Banjo, Keyboards, Flute, Fiddle, and Blues Harp. 6 to 7:30 pm.
