The Great Garden Glean

Help combat food insecurity by opening your vegetable garden to the Merrymeeting Gleaners!

Invite volunteers to harvest any produce you’d like to donate, or harvest yourself and they’ll come pick it up between 9am and 1pm. All donated food will be distributed through MCHPP’s Food Pantry or local Sharing Tables.

Open to all gardens within 30mins of MCHPP in Brunswick. No garden or donation is too small!

Free Exhibit - ROBERT McCLOSKEY: The Art of Wonder

Curtis Memorial Library is hosting a free exhibit of nearly 70 original illustrations from Robert McCloskey’s iconic Maine-based children’s books – ONE MORNING IN MAINE, TIME OF WONDER, BURT DOW DEEP-WATER MAN, and turning 75 this year . . . BLUEBERRIES FOR SAL, as well as the Boston classic MAKE WAY FOR DUCKLINGS.
 
The exhibit is open during library hours, and includes special programming throughout, including readings from Sal McCloskey herself, and drawing workshops led by co-presenters the Illustration Institute.  Supported by the STK Foundation, Sherman’s Maine Coast Book Shops, L.L.Bean and Bath Savings Bank. Growing to Give invites you to our 5th annual Farmyard Jam!

A music and farm festival to support our mission to grow organic vegetables for those in need while practicing, teaching, and promoting climate-friendly farming. Join us to hear from some amazing local bands, enjoy food trucks and craft beer, take a farm tour, and play kids games and raffles.

Growing to Give is located at 30 E Coxon Road in Brunswick. We are a non-profit farm whose mission is to grow and donate organically certified vegetables to our community members in need while educating and practicing climate-friendly farming.
