Points of View Artists open their 2024 season with TWENTY! – a celebration of POV’s 20th anniversary. 14 current members and 10 former members share our diverse work.  Exhibit: May 28-June 28.  Reception: Friday, June 14; 5-7 pm.

A Fulfilling Chapter: Happy and Healthy Retirement Years

Midcoast Senior College presents a free talk in its Summer Wisdom Series, “A Fulfilling Chapter: Happy and Healthy Retirement Years” with Chris Bowe  Dr. Bowe will speak about ways to make our lives happier, healthier, and more fulfilling in retirement and the healthcare system’s role in promoting wellness. He will be happy to answer questions about his first year as president of Mid Coast-Parkview Health. Chris Bowe, MD was named President of Mid Coast-Parkview Health in January 2023. Prior to that Chris was an Emergency Medicine physician at Maine Medical Center for ten years, served as ED Chair and Chief Medical Officer at St. Mary’s in Lewiston for four years, and as Mid Coast-Parkview Health’s Chief Medical Officer for two years. During his tenure as Mid Coast’s CMO, he distinguished himself by leading the organization’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, including heading the Incident Command team and providing strategic and clinical leadership during the deployment of mass vaccination clinics. Chris is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin where he completed both his undergraduate studies and medical school. He is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians and certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Free and open to the public! Sponsored by Thornton Oaks in Brunswick.

Come join us at The Healing Spa for a supportive and understanding environment where teens who are struggling with life can come together for comfort and guidance. This event offers a safe space to share experiences, emotions, and coping strategies with others who truly understand. Together, we can navigate this journey of grief and healing. You are not alone.

This group will be led by Maya Manseau, who lost her older daughter to leukemia 11 years ago. She is now offering individual and group healing sessions at The Healing Spa.
