The Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association is hosting its 3rd annual Holiday Pop-up Shop at the Cushman Family Building at 93 Pleasant Street on December 16th from 10:00-2:00. Sea Bags Maine will be on site selling their iconic sail cloth bags and debuting a new Bowline Sea Bag design to benefit MCFA. Shoppers can browse MCFA’s large collection of unique t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, totes, tea towels, cookbooks and more. Plus, MCFA is offering a special pre-order discount on their award-winning Maine Coast Monkfish Stew for pick-up at the Pop-up Shop.

Frank Brockman Gallery Holiday Show

“Potato Chips and Ginger Ale” Holiday Show at the Frank Brockman Gallery. Opening Night is Friday, November 10 from 6 – 8 pm.

The Holiday Show runs through the end of December. The gallery will be open Fridays & Saturdays from 12 pm to 6 pm.

The show is in honor of Frank’s little sister who loved potato chips and ginger ale!

A Victorian Nutcracker 

A Victorian Nutcracker is a retelling of the classic story of a young girl’s Christmas Eve dream, brought on by a curious gift of a nutcracker, in which she travels to the Sugar Plum Fairy’s Land of the Sweets. This version is unique to Portland and its history, as the first act takes place in the Victoria Mansion with characters pulled directly from Portland’s past.

?Here are Milo’s adventures in the Land of Wisdom, where he’s forced to think about many new things. Milo learns of the argument between King Azaz and his brother, the Mathemagician, whose disagreement over words and numbers has led to the banishment of Princesses Sweet Rhyme and Pure Reason. Milo is dispatched to rescue the princesses from the Land of Ignorance. Armed with the knowledge and skills he picks up on his journey, Mile rescues the princesses. When he must return home, Milo bids farewell to his new friends, knowing his attitude toward learning will never be the same.
