BTLT Taking Root Plant Sale

Each year, Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust’s Tom Settlemire Community Garden (TSCG) hosts a plant sale thanks to the effort of dozens of volunteers. The proceeds benefit the TSCG’s Common Good Garden, which enriches hundreds of lives each year, providing local food, gardening education, produce for the Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program, a therapeutic environment for those with physical disabilities, volunteer opportunities for people of all ages, and above all a tremendous community of friends that will welcome you!

There are an array of perennials, biennials, herbs, vegetable seedlings, annual seedlings, heirloom variety plants, shrubs, small trees and vines available. There will be Master Gardeners, who will be on hand to help you choose the best options for your garden.

It’s not just about the plants you’ll find – it’s a wonderful day of celebration and meeting your community of local gardeners.

Four Seasons 06/04/22 at 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm

Four Seasons

“There’s a weird alchemical process involved in the crowning of cultural icons. Why have “The Four Seasons” prevailed? . . . They’re good music with catchy tunes that propel the music forward and never overstay their welcome. Another part of the alchemy is the urge to replicate. . . . I can’t think of another work that has inspired so many direct spinoffs.” – The Washington Post

What will our future sound like if we don’t act now on climate change? In 1725, Vivaldi composed The Four Seasons, a series of concertos that gave musical expression to the seasons—murmuring streams, singing birds, harvest festivals, winter wind, and lazy summer days— and is now one of the most popular pieces of classical music. The [uncertain] Four Seasons is a recomposition that reflects climate predictions for 2050 if no effort is made to address climate change. Featuring GRAMMY-nominated violinist Jesse Irons, both works are offered side-by-side accompanied by the original sonnets to transform your experience and understanding of sound.
