Learn to Play Tennis Adult 1231-2-3 adult tennis at Maine Pines is geared toward the beginning player or player returning to tennis. It includes 3 weeks of lessons designed to instruct the player in all aspects of the game. For the month-long program, it includes a court fee membership with free weekend scheduled court time, a complimentary cardio tennis class, a social mixer, and free fitness membership during the month. Players can purchase a discounted ball machine pass for $50. Select a session that meets for 3 consecutive weeks on either Saturdays at 10am, Tuesdays at 9am, or Wednesdays at 6pm. Jr Development Tennis ProgramJDP is a program for junior high and high school players of all levels. JDP at Maine Pines meets three times a week and offers a combination of drill, instruction, and play. Tuesdays and Thursdays will be for drill and instruction; Fridays will be for match play with coaching. Participation in the JDP program includes a Junior Membership and discounts on tournaments, leagues, and individual instruction, as well as junior club tournaments. This program is perfect for the junior player who aspires to play high school or college tennis. Age exceptions can be made depending upon ability. Meets Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Merrymeeting Bay chapter of Trout Unlimited MeetingThe Merrymeeting Bay chapter of Trout Unlimited is soon brushing off the dust and starting their 2022-23 meetings! The Merrymeeting Bay Chapter of this national cold-water conservation group will gather sportspeople and conservationists on September 20 at Joshua’s Restaurant, 123 Maine Street, Brunswick. Social hour begins at 6:00 PM and a presentation starts at 7:00 PM. Dinner and drinks can be purchased. September’s presenter is Chapter member Mike Greene. Mike leads Maine TU Council’s Native Salmonid Committee. He will lead an engaging talk on the state’s rich salmonid resources, including how and where to fish for them. Meetings are held at this location on the third Tuesday of each month, September through May. Future meetings will feature presentations about dam removal on Frost Gully Brook in Freeport; Maine guide Kate Farnham on fishing in Labrador; and a Yankee Swap in December. No admission.
