Fit and Fun for Free at People Plus in January 01/02/20 - 01/31/20 at All Day

Fit and Fun for Free at People Plus in January

If you made a New Year’s resolution to “pick up the pace” of your personal fitness, or try a new activity, why not come to People Plus and start something new at no cost? Try any one (or more) of our offerings during January for Free!

Executive Director Stacy Frizzle explains, “this is more about getting new folks into new experiences,” she said, “we’re confident if they try it, they’ll like it!” The Center routinely offers more than a dozen fitness classes each week, varying from Table Tennis (free all the time!) to Tai Chi. All of our instructor led courses are available to members for a cost of only $5 a session. And the Center has over a dozen clubs that meet regularly to write, play a game, converse in a different language and more!
“The goal is to get folks engaged,” Frizzle explained, “This offer is for new attendees to try classes/clubs and see if they like it. We’re confident they will. There is no better investment than the one we all make in our own personal health. What a way to start the New Year!”

This offer is free and open to the public. Call the Center at 729-0757 if you have questions or want to sign up or visit www.peopleplusmaine.org for a full list of activities.

People Plus Acoustic Music Club - NEW 01/25/20 - 01/26/20 at 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

People Plus Acoustic Music Club - NEW

We be “jammin” at People Plus! If you play an instrument at an intermediate or better level and want to jam with some new friends come join the fun at People Plus with this new club!

Bring your own instrument, be able to share a few songs and know basic chords. The club will be playing mostly folk, blues, bluegrass and other acoustic music in a song circle format where everyone gets a turn to share a song, with others joining in.

Open to current People Plus members and community members 18 years or older and graduated high school. (People Plus membership is not required for your first few visits, but you will need to eventually become a member, only $30/year for Brunswick residents, $35 all others)!

This fun music club will be coordinated by Brunswick resident Jim Ru who plays a variety of instruments and has played in small informal groups, open mikes and house jams. Jim enjoys live acoustic music, especially when people just pull up a chair and share a song or two.

Live Music - "Stealing Sunday" 01/25/20 at 8:30 pm - 11:30 pm

Live Music - "Stealing Sunday"

A great mix of classic tunes you don’t usually get from the cover bands in the area. I love the variety in their playlist and their own versions of the tunes we all miss so much. Be prepared to sing along.

8:30 PM to 12:30 PM.
