Midcoast Senior College presents a FREE event, DUO MUNDI GEORGE & GULI Immigration and Opportunity: Music Inspired by Elsewhere piano recital and lecture. Sponsored by The Highlands of Topsham, the duo will highlight music written by composers whose immigration experience and interest in musical cultures other than their own significantly impacted their works. Recent performances of the dynamic piano duo George Lopez & Guli Mahamuti include concerts in Europe, Mexico, and throughout the U.S. They gave their New York City recital debut at the Steinway & Sons flagship gallery recital hall in Times Square and gave premiere performances of newly commissioned works by living composers.
