Tour & Talk at the Brunswick Fire Department - Trial by Fire: Investigating Arson and BeyondAs part of our 2024 theme, “Crime, Punishment & Justice,” PHC is joining with the Brunswick Fire Department to host “Trial by Fire: Investigating Arson and Beyond,” next Thursday. The interview, slideshow, and tour program takes place at the BFD’s new headquarters at 119 Pleasant Street. Panelists, led by Deputy Fire Chief, Jeff Emersen, include active and retired firefighters. The program offers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the crucial work of firefighting and how fire investigations play out within our community. Panelists will share first-hand experiences, stories, and rarely seen images about some of the most compelling cases in the Brunswick region’s fire history. Participants will learn how the process of investigating suspicious fires has changed over time and the relationship between local and state officials. Tickets: $8 PHC Members / $15 General Public. Register via the “Book Now” button below. For this event we will also be offering the discounted $8 tickets to students! This program will be suitable for middle and high school students who might be interested in learning more about the fire department. Cohosted by Pejepscot History Center: Join us for a tour of Brunswick’s new fire station, including a new exhibit space, and hear from the team that serves our community! We’ll be facilitating a panel discussion with current and former fire fighters about their experience working in the department and the process of investigating fires, as well as some interesting cases in Brunswick’s past. |
