Combined Art Show Opening

Meetinghouse Arts is thrilled to collaborate for a second year with Spindleworks on this
group show at Meetinghouse Arts Gallery! Combined is a group show featuring the work
from 20 Spindleworks artists and 20 Meetinghouse Arts gallery member artists. The work
will include painting, pastel, photography, collage, glass work, ceramics, encaustic, fiber
arts and sculpture.
“It is always a unique experience when artists come together to discuss and share their
work and talents with each other and the community. This show is no exception and is a
wonderful example of how art is an expression of ourselves, and how we view the world
around us,” explains Gallery Director Stacey Lodato.
The show runs March 15th- April 14th at Meetinghouse Arts gallery 40 Main St. Freeport. Show hours are Friday and Saturday 10:00-5:00 and Sunday 12:00-4:00.

The opening reception, which is free and open to the public, is Friday March 15th from 5:00-7:00 PM with an open mic session on stage for those who would like to participate by sharing a song, poem, dance, or music. Light refreshments will be served.

History Happy Hour 03/15/24 at 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm

History Happy Hour

Join us for another History Happy Hour! This time we will enjoy a presentation by Nick McCrea, managing editor of the Times Record, who will give us his take on our annual theme of 2024: Crime and Punishment.

“Policing and journalism each have seen monumental changes and challenges recent years, some of which are closely linked. Police have faced leaps in scrutiny and accountability since just about everyone carries a camera in their pocket. This has made it clear that the “story” isn’t always the true story and has led to increased accountability for journalists to get it right. In addition, stories on the internet live forever. A person’s misdeeds can always pop up in a simple Google search, following them through their jobs, relationships, etc. What can be done to balance the importance of covering crime with an individual’s ability to move on with their life? How has newspaper coverage of law and order shifted? What can we expect to see in the future?”

Tickets are $6 for PHC Members and $10 for non-members. You can purchase tickets on our website HERE
