Bowdoin International Music FestivalThe Bowdoin International Music Festival’s 2021 season is back in Brunswick! Over 200 students and 50 faculty and guest chamber-music artists will be on the campus of Bowdoin College for a dynamic summer of performance and learning. Concerts, masterclasses, conversations with composers and more are available throughout the day, for a full schedule and to sign up for event announcements, visit www.bowdoinfestival.org While the Festival community is overjoyed to make music in person again, we are not able to invite public audiences back to the recital hall yet due to our COVID protocols and campus agreement with Bowdoin College. All concerts and events will be live-streamed online from the college’s beautiful state-of-the art Studzinski Recital Hall for free. (No in-person public seating available this summer.)

Summer in the Arctic 2021Join the Arctic Museum for Summer in the Arctic 2021!The Peary-MacMillan Arctic Museum will remain closed to the public throughout the summer, so we have relocated some of our operations to a tent on the Coe Quad (between Smith Union and Moulton Union). Come visit us Tuesday and Friday mornings in the Coe Quad Tent for summer programming with weekly Arctic themes! July 2 to August 20, 2021 From 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. we will present a themed story and a simple craft for our youngest visitors. Independence Day Weekend KickOffBrunswick to kick off July 4th weekend featuring Wreaths Across America The Brunswick Parks & Recreation Department in conjunction with the American Legion Post 20 in Brunswick have teamed up to bring the Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Unit to The Brunswick Town Mall Brunswick Parks and Recreation on Brunswick Landing on Friday, July 2nd! “It’s an honor to bring Wreaths Across America’s mobile unit to Brunswick” says Town Council member and Post 20 Commander David Watson. “The event is sure to bring the community together to honor those that have given their lives to protect our freedoms” he continues. In addition, they have procured the 195th Maine Army National Guard Band to play at the mall that afternoon as well. The Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Unit will be open from 11 am to 2 pm, with the 195th Maine Army National Guard Band playing around 1 PM, all at the south end of The Town Mall (near the Gazebo). Any Vietnam Veterans that served in theater in attendance on July 2nd will receive a gift from the WAA team. The goal of the Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit is to bring local communities and our military together with education, stories, and interactive connections. Not only does it help teach the next generation about service and sacrifice, but to share stories of patriotism and love of the country to communities around the United States.
