On Monday, June 27, at 7:00 pm., Sister Lucy Kurien will be coming to speak at First Parish Church in Brunswick (217 Maine St.). She has won innumerable awards, and Maher has consultative status with the U.N. Economic & Social Council. Sr. Lucy can inspire all of us who are engaged in the work of social action and human service to remember that great things are possible when fueled by courage, vision, kindness, grace, and mercy. She will be accompanied by local Maine author Darcy Cunningham who recently published the book “Rising to New Life, Stories from Maher.” The talk will be held in the First Parish Church sanctuary, and is open to the public, free of charge.
