Mark your calendars for the spring choir concert, Echoes of Creation: A Choral Celebration of the Earth, Saturday, April 27th at 7:00 p.m. The concert will open with “There Will Come Soft Rains” by Matt Podd, accompanied by strings, piano, and percussion followed by “Sure on This Shining Night” by Morten Lauridsen. The first half of the concert will close “Meditation: Listen to the Earth,” accompanied by harp and singing handbells. The second half of this concert will feature the choral song cycle that Dr. Jane Hagness, our Minister of Music, composed based upon her sabbatical trip to the national and state parks of Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and South Dakota. Projected imagery will enrich the musical experience.
There will be free childcare provided by our professional paid Sunday School staff beginning at 5:30 so that if you have children, you can make this a date night with dinner out and a concert. Tickets will be available at firstparish.net/concert closer to the concert date. Adults: $20.00; Students and Children: Free.
