On Thursday, April 23rd, the Brunswick Downtown Association and Reverie Coffee House co-hosted a downtown event in celebration of Maine authors, small business, and the joy of reading. Participants were invited to stroll through Downtown Brunswick, Maine, with a “passport bookmark,” stopping at local businesses to meet new authors, enjoy live readings, discover new books, and collect signatures to be entered into a raffle for a local-business gift basket. A huge BDA-shout-out to Frosty’s, Elevenses, Magpie, Social Goose, Nest, Lil Jam Cookies, The Mix, and Lemont Block Collective for welcoming authors into their businesses, helping us create meaningful connections within our community:
“I had so much fun. I ended up drawing all nine kids. They are the heroes of their own stories. AND reading three books, including one due out this July. They were my first live audience!” –Author Charlotte Agell
“It was a wonderful day to celebrate books!” –Author Jennifer Merz
“We were lucky with the weather, and I LOVED how there were kiddos attending many of the readings!” –Author Nina Lichtenstein
“We had so much fun participating in Storytime Stroll!” –Marcie Balsam, attendee
