Hello everyone!
My name is Grace Clendening, and I am bringing my background in the creative industries and nonprofit communications back to my hometown, Brunswick, Maine as your new Marketing and Communications Coordinator at the Brunswick Downtown Association (BDA). I recently graduated from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business of Creative Enterprises and a double-minor in Nonprofit Communications and Pre-Law (2025), through which I committed to pursuing a career in service of community strength. Professionally, I am passionate about brand storytelling, strategic communications, and championing people through profit. Personally, I love the arts, the outdoors, and my family and friends.
I have experience in digital marketing, public relations, and development, working throughout a range of environments from radio stations to arts productions to online ecosystems. Though I am most proud of the work I have done for nonprofit organizations because I value the honest nature of the nonprofit business structure—how grounded in its mission and vision statements a nonprofit must be to have an effect on its cause. The BDA’s mission statement is, “to promote Downtown Brunswick and our community as a vibrant and attractive place to live, work, play, and do business,” which is personal to me because I spent my childhood growing up here in Brunswick, Maine. I am grateful for this opportunity to give back to the community that raised me, and I am excited to use my experience to make a meaningful impact on local business, residents, and visitors through collaboration, storytelling, and creativity. If you see me downtown, then please don’t hesitate to say hello! I would love to meet you.
Kindly, Grace
