Outer Limits Gallery & Studio, located at 11 Pleasant Street, brings professional limited-run toy production to this corner of the universe. Owners Brad and Samantha Nord founded Outer Limits in 2024, opening their retail space in the summer of 2025.
Since opening the studio, we have been hard at work, collaborating with incredible designers and artists to bring new creations to life! Our studio toy production process involves working from an original idea and then creating a 2D design (or working from an artist’s concept sketches). A physical model is then created, sculpting either by hand or in the computer to create a prototype. Final designs are then molded, cast, and colored by our team. While all of our 2025 releases have sold out, we have plenty more in store for 2026 that we can’t wait to share with everyone!

Brad brings a rich history of creating professional art for over 25 years across a number of venues, including animation, commercial/fine art, graphic design, and toy production. Having worked on both sides of the production process as an artist and project manager, he puts that experience to use in collaborative projects and his own work for Outer Limits Studios and Gallery. He currently lives in Brunswick, Maine, with his wife and Outer Limits co-owner, Samantha, their son, River, and an assortment of smaller critters.
Brad and Samantha chose Brunswick, Maine, as both a place to live and to start their business.
Brunswick is a small, hard-working community with a rich history that celebrates its diversity and creativity in so many ways, from concerts in the park to retrospectives at the college art museum, and everything in between! It also has deep and connected roots to the artistic communities of Maine and is bursting with awesome small businesses, schools, and churches that make it so special.
Rising tides raise all ships, so we asked Brad which other Brunswick business he would like to see people support. His business shoutout goes to his store’s neighbor, Midcoast Comics.
Not only are we building buddies, but our stores really mesh well together in terms of what we offer. I’m also a huge fan of Steven as a person, business owner, and everything he has done to build his store into a place for the local comic and gaming community.
