About this Event
This workshop takes the form of a one hour guided/interactive brainstorming session. By the end of the session, you will have a clearly articulated view of the project, including: desired outcomes, a process that supports them, and how the project connects to its environment and supports your personal direction. The tools we use in this class will support you as you embark on projects in the arts, political organizing, storytelling, research… anything that requires sustained effort over time and has a defined end product. This class is part of a series, aimed at laying the groundwork for creatives to work from in the other classes focused on taking the first steps, dealing with the messy middle, and how to know when you’re finished.
About the facilitator:
Victoria is a filmmaker, artist and project manager with 10 years of experience bringing creative, research and organizing projects from seed to final iteration. She has taught adults and college-aged students how to make documentary films, oral history projects, and audio stories through university degree programs and not-for-profit workshops. She’s consulted on music video productions, built a small local newsletter from scratch, and helped to mobilize communities around political aims. She approaches each project as an opportunity to engage with yourself and the world around you, and specializes in helping students fit their process to their desired outcome, and building a clear articulation of the project to work from.
