Jane’s Walk

On May 3rd, we partnered with Pejepscot History Center to host Brunswick’s Jane’s Walk. Jane’s Walk is a global festival of free, volunteer-led walking conversations inspired by community activist Jane Jacobs. Our event, “Brunswick’s Heart: A Walk Through History & Community”, took participants through downtown Brunswick, visiting key nonprofit organizations. Participants visited 7 nonprofits to learn about their work and how it impacts our community. Participants also learned the history of the buildings these organizations occupy. From fighting food insecurity and homelessness to bringing entertainment and educational resources to the community, Brunswick’s nonprofits are doing incredible work!

Simply Social at Pejepscot History Center

We returned to Pejepscot History Center on the 13th for our May Simply Social. In addition to giving information about the organization, Pejepscot History Center gave free tours of the Skolfield-Whittier House and talked about a few items they had on display. Pejepscot History Center’s summer season has begun; check out their website for information on summer walking tours, museum hours, and other events.

On May 24th, the community gathered to view the new space where they sell their flowers as well as other locally made goods. Mare Brook Farm’s mission is to give back to the community through their products and collaborations with other local businesses. Attendees learned about the operations of a family farm and were sent home with free tulip bouquets.
