About this Event

Come walk the trails at Crystal Spring Farm as we get to know native plants in summer with the Wild Seed Project and Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust!

Four Season Walks are a popular series and a staff favorite. Each year, the Wild Seed Project picks a new location, and then takes the same walk, once per season. We will all engage in observing and asking questions of our surroundings, and identify the varied plants, shrubs, trees, ferns, and wildlife along the trail.

Each season brings something new and spectacular to look at. The goal of these walks is to foster relationships with place through relationships with plants, and encourage further stewardship of our community spaces. Crystal Spring is home to a lovely blueberry barren ecosystem that we look forward to visiting together.

Parking for Crystal Spring Farm is located at 277 Pleasant Hill Road. The walk will cover about 1 mile, moving at a leisurely pace. The trails are natural (think dirt, roots, rocks), and are fairly flat with some small changes of elevation throughout. Some areas have pretty narrow trails (easiest to walk single file) while other areas allow groups to walk together more. Most areas are shaded, although field and blueberry sections are in the direct sun.
