Whoopie Pie Bakeoff at 207 Day
As part of 207 Day, the BDA is hosting a Whoopie Pie Bakeoff celebrating Maine’s official state treat. Local restaurants and bakeries are invited to showcase their best whoopie pie creations, whether classic, creative, or somewhere delightfully in between.
Event Details
- Date & Time: Saturday, February 7th, from 10:00 AM–1:00 PM
- Location: Inside the warming tent near Veterans Plaza on the Town Mall
- Entries will be judged by both a panel of judges and community tasters.

- Best Overall Whoopie Pie in Brunswick (Juried Vote)
- Most Unique Whoopie Pie in Brunswick (Community Vote)
- Best Classic Whoopie Pie in Brunswick (Community Vote)
Who Can Participate
- Open to Brunswick-based restaurants and bakeries.
- Participants are encouraged to submit their best interpretation of a whoopie pie, traditional or innovative. This is your moment to put your best foot forward.
Submission Requirements
- Please provide 150 tasting portions of your whoopie pie.
- Example: A standard-sized whoopie pie cut into sixths would require 25 full-sized whoopie pies.
- Submissions must include a write-up of their entered whoopie pie. Details could include a name, what gave you inspiration for the recipe, etc. 3 – 5 sentences.
- Submissions must include an ingredient list clearly noting any potential allergens.
- An owner or employee is welcome to offer samples during the event.
- If staffing is a challenge, the BDA can arrange a volunteer to serve samples on your behalf. Just let us know in advance.
- If event volunteers will be serving your whoopie pies, please have your pies ready for pickup no later than 3:00 PM on Friday, February 6th.
