Join Midcoast Literacy and become a volunteer tutor for a child who needs help with literacy. New volunteers are urgently needed to help us meet demand for our programs.
Read Together Tutor Training (for tutors to work with children ages 6-14). A 3-day training to prepare you to help a student age 6-14. We work with both English language learners and students who are struggling to learn to read and write at grade level. Volunteers are expected to meet twice a week for an hour, year-round with their students. Volunteer training is free and open to the public. No experience necessary. Volunteers work with children in northern Cumberland, Sagadahoc, and Lincoln counties.
