Dr. Eleanor M. King, Howard University, will talk about the worldwide problem of trafficking in illicit antiquities and its relationship to other crimes: narcotics, human trafficking, money laundering, and terrorism. She will discuss issues involving the Euphronios krater, the looting of a United States military cemetery in which primarily black soldiers are interred, and the selling of artifacts used to fund terrorist activities including the Khmer Rouge and Daesh (ISIS).

Free and open to the public.
