This foraging experience, hosted by the Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust and led by Louis Giller of North Spore Mushroom Company, will begin with a concise intro to Mycology in order to give participants a basic understanding of the fungal life cycle, structures, and role in the environment. We’ll zoom in on a few choice edible species that we hope to find during our time in the woods. Before heading out, we’ll talk a bit about conscientious foraging techniques. What you find, you keep! That is unless it is a large enough amount that it makes sense to share. Regardless, we’ll make sure that everybody leaves the event with some tasty North Spore oyster mushrooms and confidence in their new foraging skills.
