Mid Coast–Parkview Health will be offering walk-in flu vaccination clinics in
November, as well as opportunities to receive any Pfizer COVID 19 vaccination, including the new
Pfizer Bivalent Booster.
While the flu vaccine clinic is walk-in only, you can select your COVID vaccine appointment at
vaccine.mainehealth.org, although walk-ins will also be accommodated.
On Wednesday, November 2 and Thursday, November 3 our vaccine team will be at the Farley
Field House at Bowdoin College from 8 a.m. to noon, Flu Vaccine and Pfizer Bivalent Booster
available for those age 12 and over only.
In addition, flu and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines will be available every Monday in November at 81
Medical Center Drive from 2-6 p.m. for those 6 months and older.
Please bring your insurance card (if you have one), and it’s a good idea to wear a short-sleeved shirt.
No one will be turned away because of an inability to pay.
The quadravalent flu vaccine will be used at the clinic, but the high-dose version for ages 65+ is not
According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the flu vaccine has been shown to
reduce the risk of having to go to the doctor with flu symptoms by 40 percent to 60 percent. That
means that out of 10 people who get the flu shot, 4 to 6 of them won’t have to go the doctor
because of the vaccine’s effectiveness.
