Making History with Pejepscot History Center: Volunteer Info Session
Volunteers are the key to our success at Pejepscot History Center, and with the museum season almost upon us, we’re excited to welcome a new group of volunteers! Last year’s online info session was such a success that we’ve decided to do it again this year.
Are you a history lover? Want to get your hands dirty in the garden? Like organizing or sharing your knowledge with others? Or perhaps you just want to spend time with other friendly faces? During this virtual info session you’ll learn all about the different areas available to participate in, including becoming a docent at one (or both!) of our historic house museums (the Joshua L. Chamberlain Museum and the Skolfield-Whittier House), greeting guests and answering queries at our headquarters, helping keep our historic buildings and gardens in tip-top shape, helping with mailings and special events, organizing spaces and collections, and more. There’s always something to do, and the convivial atmosphere of like-minded history lovers abounds.
You’ll hear from current volunteers to get an idea of what it’s like to spend time at PHC, staff will explain benefits, expectations, and training involved, and there will be a Q&A period for you to ask your own questions. If you love history or just want to be more involved in the community, we encourage you to tune into this online event to learn whether you’d like to Make History with PHC this year!
This is a free event, but registration is required. Zoom link provided in registration confirmation and on the Eventbrite page after registration. Hope to see you there.
