Make your own leather wallet and learn basic leather crafting skills with Chris Cavallari of The Acadian. $80.00

About the Artist: The Acadian offers every day carry products from our workshop on the coast of Maine. From handcrafted pens to finely stitched leather products and more, we pride ourselves on crafting high quality products with a Maine flair. We create heirloom works from the historic, the beautiful, and the imperfect. An historic pylon from a coastal community; a piece of wood from a favorite film set; a journal cover inspired by a Maine hero — each piece is carefully crafted into a wearable artwork or treasured keepsake. It was chance that brought our shop into being. Founder Chris Cavallari began leather and woodcrafting several years ago, and fell in love with the process, the feeling of creating, and the beauty of minor flaws—what the Japanese call wabi sabi— that add so much character and love to hand finished products.

About the Artist:
I’m a self-taught artist painting out of my home studio in Brunswick, Maine. I’m blessed with the ability to paint full-time, calling it “Doing what I love the second half of life phase!” My favorite medium is acrylic because of it’s versatility and super fast dry time. I find joy in creating scenes that inspire me at the moment on any given day, so my work is spontaneous and varied. Occasionally a subject will hold my attention long enough for a series, but I enjoy the random things that capture my eye. I don’t always paint what is popular, but rather I paint what makes me happy. Painting is great therapy.
