159 Park Row
Brunswick, Maine 04011
Timed to follow on the heels of the National Register of Historic Places district recognition for downtown Brunswick, Pejepscot Historical Society’s 2016 main gallery exhibit, Maine to Main: Downtown in Brunswick and Topsham, showcases many treasures in the PHS collection related to the main thoroughfares in the neighboring towns and will be open to the public beginning June 24.
Visitors to the exhibit will be treated to a walk down memory lane as they explore five sections along this nationally recognized roadway which has been at the heart of the Pejepscot region for centuries. There will also be opportunities to share your own #MainetoMain experiences through interactive elements and prompts that will have you exploring the area in a whole new way.
From the First Parish Church in Brunswick to the corner of Main and Elm in Topsham, “Maine to Main” traces the evolution of the thoroughfares in these neighboring towns from the mid-19th century to the present day. The exhibit stays up through late December. Admission is free. Open Tuesday-Friday, 10AM-4PM at PHS Museum and Research Center, 159 Park Row. Sponsors: Bangor Savings Bank, Eaton Peabody, Goodwin Motor Group, Moore Painting, Richard Nemrow, Priority Real Estate Group.
