Make. Learn. Create. Have Fun.
We hope you’ll join us on Saturday, September 16, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm for Curtis’ 4th annual free How-To Festival and Block Party. Talented individuals and local business owners donate their time and talent to teach people of all ages a variety of fun and interesting skills.
Last year we had over 700 attendees and we are aiming for even more this year! We are expanding the FREE mini-workshops to include even more information tables, food and fun. Middle Street will be closed to vehicles to accommodate events happening at the library and in the street. There will be food trucks, demonstrations, giveaways, face painting, and live music with local musicians.
Attendees can learn about stargazing with a telescope, weatherizing windows, researching your family history, painting kindness rocks, crafting, preparing family meals on a budget, making a festival hat —and much more! There will be plenty of how-to presentations that showcase technology and online resources such as accessing free magazines on mobile devices, how to scan photos, and 3D printer demonstrations.
The How-To Festival is part of the Curtis Library’s ongoing mission of lifelong learning. We recognize the power of information and the joy of discovery and strive to provide a variety of quality resources and programs to meet community needs. If you’ve ever found yourself saying, “I wish I could learn how to…,” then this event is for you! For more information go to curtislibrary.com. A full schedule will be available a week prior to the event. — SB
