DESCRIPTION:The 24th annual People Plus Music in April online auction fundraiser is now OPEN! The online auction features almost 400 items\, launched on April 1\, and will close on April 30 at 9:00 pm. \nThe auction will feature items including local gift certificates\, jewelry\, private dinners\, variety baskets\, clothing\, paintings\, vintage treasures\, hand-made items and much more – there is something for everyone – in every price range! Visit www.peopleplusmaine.org\, and click on the link for the auction to view the catalog of amazing items. New items will be added every week so check back often and place your bids (you’ll be notified if someone outbids you so you can bid again!). \nMusic in April is THE signature fundraiser for People Plus\, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year! It includes the online auction plus a gala dinner and live auction event on Saturday\, April 11 from 5-9 pm at St. Johns Community Center in Brunswick. Proceeds enable us to serve over 1700 People Plus members who represent an ever-increasing population of retirees and elders on the Mid Coast. This non-profit could NOT do it without the income from Music in April – which has become a fantastic signature event in our community. The Center has raised over $915\,000 from the event over the last 23 years. These last few years have demonstrated exactly how vital People Plus is to the lives of the older adult populations. In addition to hundreds of classes\, clubs and meals held safely at the Center\, we made over four thousand deliveries of groceries\, food pantry boxes\, meals and prescriptions – and provided over 33\,000 miles of transportation – just last year\, keeping seniors safe! \nPeople Plus serves the greater Brunswick community by offering a variety of activities to support engaged\, healthy and independent lives for older adults\, as well as hosting the Teen Center where young people can meet safely to explore creative outlets\, eat a healthy meal\, and develop into well-rounded adults. DESCRIPTION:Storytime Stroll is a charming downtown event that celebrates local authors\, small businesses\, and the joy of reading. During the event\, local authors will be hosted inside participating downtown shops where they can sell signed copies of their books\, meet readers\, and host short readings throughout the day. Visitors will stroll through downtown using a passport bookmark\, stopping into different businesses where they will get a sticker (each sticker gets you an entry to a raffle) and discover new authors\, listen to stories\, and support both local creatives and small shops. The event is designed to be relaxed\, family-friendly\, and interactive—creating meaningful connections between authors\, readers\, and our downtown community. Participating authors will be paired with a local business for the duration of the event\, providing a cozy and unique setting for book readings\, conversations\, and book sales.
