Basic Jewelry Classes in Ft. Andross @ the Wedge

• Learn the basic skills necessary for metal working and jewelry making with a focus on beginning techniques. Or learn a new skill set to apply to your art making from 2 life-long makers in their Studio: the Wedge in historic Fort Andross in Brunswick.
• All of the necessary tools and materials for this class will be provided. We encourage you to bring and/or build your own toolbox along the way. We can guide you on this quest!
• The skills that will be covered in this class will include, but not be limited to; Tools and equipment, Safety, sawing, metal finishing (filing, sanding, polishing…), introduction to the flex shaft, hammering and texturing, forming and bending, torch use (annealing and soldering), findings and cold connections. We will also cover design basics, general Craft philosophy and impart some of our experience from the past 34 years (each) as full-time makers.
• This course is designed for beginners. However, Intermediate students who wish to brush up on their skill set are welcome. Inquire if you are unsure that this is for you!
• Only 4 students per class for an intimate, hands on experience with an incredible student to teacher ratio.
• 8 week classes begin May 3. Classes will be held Tuesday evenings from 6 – 8:30.
• Cost for 8 weeks is $400, which includes use of tools and most materials. A 50% deposit is required to reserve your space. The balance is due 30 days prior to the beginning of each session. Refunds will be made prior to the balance deadline, providing that we can fill the space. A liability waiver will need to be signed to participate, as well as proof of vaccines + booster(s).
