Stones and Stories, a new book of essays and letters from Frank Connors and People Plus, has, “gone to the printer and will be ready for Christmas,” according to its author. Connors said the book is a “follow-up” to Speaking Frankly published three years ago by People Plus, with “lots of similarities and many differences.”
Muralist John Gable of Woolwich produced original art for the book covers, and Maine State Senator “Brownie” Carson offered some “Afterward” comments. “We’ve produced more than 200 essays for the People Plus Newspaper since 2002,” Connors said, “and this year marks the 50th anniversary of my service in Vietnam. It seems totally appropriate to mark those two dates with a new book.” Stones and Stories includes nearly 80 of Connors’ famous essays, including several that have never been published, and selections from letters Connors sent home from Vietnam in 1967-68. Includes book signing and sales.
