Music in April is THE signature fundraiser for People Plus. It enables us to serve over 1300 People Plus members who represent an ever-increasing population of retirees and elders on the Mid Coast. This non-profit could NOT do it without the income from Music in April – which has become a signature event in our community. The Center has raised over $650,000 from the event over the last 20 years. These last few years have demonstrated exactly how vital People Plus is to the lives of the older adult populations. In addition to hundreds of classes, clubs and meals held safely at the Center, we made over four thousand deliveries of groceries, food pantry boxes, meals and prescriptions – and provided over 30,000 miles of transportation – just last year, keeping seniors safe!

People Plus serves the greater Brunswick community by offering a variety of activities to support engaged, healthy and independent lives for older adults, as well as hosting the Teen Center where young people can meet safely to explore creative outlets, eat a healthy meal, and develop into well-rounded adults. People Plus also provides outreach and transportation services, and offers many volunteer opportunities.

People Plus wishes to thank Lead Sponsors Coastal Landing Retirement Community, Mid Coast-Parkview Health Maine Health, Bill Dodge Auto Group, Rusty Lantern Market, Bowdoin College, Priority Real Estate Group, Bangor Savings Bank, Bath Savings Institution, and Maine State Credit Union. Also sponsors Brackett Funeral Home, Off Their Rockers, Spectrum Generations, Norway Savings Bank, Maine State Music Theatre, Goodwin Motor Group, The Times Record, Darling’s Ford, Dead River Company, Kennebec Savings Bank, The Highlands, Thornton Oaks, Avita of Brunswick/Sunnybrook, Atlantic Federal Credit Union, Flight Deck Brewing, Brunswick Instant Print, Maine Community Bank, Insurance and Retirement Solutions, Developers Collaborative, Edward Jones Brunswick & Topsham, and Topsham Tractor & Manchester Motors.

Danny Fox Trio - 15 Year Tour @ Lemont Block 04/14/23 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Danny Fox Trio - 15 Year Tour @ Lemont Block

Welcoming the sounds of the Danny Fox Trio into the historic and intimate Lemont Hall for their only performance in Mid-Coast Maine!

Celebrating its 15th anniversary, the Danny Fox Trio, featuring pianist Danny Fox, bassist Chris van Voorst van Beest, and drummer Max Goldman, is a true working band hailed for reinventing the classic piano trio format with genre-defying, uniquely personal original music. Whether holed up in a Brooklyn basement rehearsing or touring around the country crammed into a sedan, the trio has spent countless hours developing a rapport that’s immediately palpable in their music. Described as a modern-day Ahmad Jamal Trio, the band mixes tight ensemble playing with interactive, attuned improvisation. Drawing on influences as varied as Ellington, Bartok, and The Meters, the music can switch gears at any moment yet remains cohesive thanks to strong motivic development and rigorous arrangements that challenge the traditional roles of the piano trio instruments. Hailed as “changing the sound and expectation of a jazz piano trio” (WNYC) and “cool but not modish” (NY Times), the band is set to release its fourth album “Time Took Care of It” in April 2023.
