We’ve had to change venues for our Thursday Storytime and Craft. Weather permitting, we will hold activities outside in front of Hubbard. If not, we’ll be inside the museum where COVID protocols do apply. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Museum Event Info.

  • FREE and open to the public.
  • Registration not required, capacity limits may apply.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Masks are required within the Museum for visitors 2 to 4 years of age (N95, KF-94).
  • Restroom facilities are not available for tent activities.
  • Tent activities are weather permitting, check website for cancellations on the date.

Brunswick Summer Mall Madness: Casting for Conservation & Community

Join us for a free event of all things fly-fishing and free music. “Summer Mall Madness” sponsored by the MerryMeeting Bay Chapter of Trout Unlimited. top by to experience the excitement and traditions of fly fishing & conservation — and support a fund-raiser to help send a young person to TU Maine’s Trout Camp.

Want to learn how fly casters catch fish and not trees?

 Fly-tying got you tied up in knots?

 Willing to help young people learn about conservation and fly fishing?

Outdoor enthusiasts, families, young people, seniors, fly fishers, and the general public can attend this FREE event held by the MerryMeeting Bay Chapter of Trout Unlimited on the Brunswick Town Mall on Saturday, July 30, 2022, from 10:00 – 2:00. This event will offer free fly-casting instruction, fly tying demonstrations, aquatic insect exhibit, and live music from Highway 1.

As part of the fund-raising, MerryMeeting TU will hold auctions and raffles to support its year-round focus on fishing, conservation, and community: Trout Unlimited strives to foster and grow trout fishing culture in communities nationwide, while protecting the natural habitats and ecosystems surrounding them. The funds raised on July 30 will help support MerryMeeting Bay’s:

  • Annual Troup Camp, which teaches conservation ethics and practices, and fly-fishing to local youth
  • Winter fly-casting sessions at the Brunswick Rec Center
  • Fly-fishing workshop at Brunswick Junior High School
  • Local river and stream connectivity projects to support coldwater fisheries

Summer Mall Madness

On Saturday, July 30, the MerryMeeting Bay Chapter of Trout Unlimited* will hold its annual fundraiser on the Brunswick Town Mall from 10:00 – 2:00. This event will attract outdoor enthusiasts, fly fishers, families, young people, seniors, and the general public to free fly-casting demonstrations, fly tying demonstration, exhibits, and live music.

We will be holding raffles and auctions to raise funds to further our community engagement, which includes:

  • TU Maine’s annual Trout Camp, , which teaches conservation ethics and practices, and fly-fishing to area youth.
  • Winter fly-casting sessions at the Brunswick Rec Center
  • Fly fishing Workshop at Brunswick Junior High School
  • River and Stream connectivity projects to support cold-water fisheries
