PHC Presents Four Centuries of Immigration: A Conversation with MHS Curator Tilly LaskeyKicking off the Pejepscot History Center programming this year is a slideshow and conversation with Maine Historical Society curator, Tilly Laskey. Tilly’s work at MHS and multi-generational family history in Brunswick gives her a unique perspective on topics of immigration in the Pejepscot region—from the first contact of Europeans and Indigenous peoples and its ongoing impact—to today’s New Mainers. She will provide statewide and local context as we seek to understand the complexities of the past 400+ years of immigration to Maine and our region. Ms. Laskey will talk about the exhibits (in-person and digital) that MHS has done in the past few years touching upon immigration. She will also discuss the Pejepscot Proprietors and current transcription work relating to that collection, along with her own Ulster-Scots family history. Tickets: $5 PHC Members; $8 Non-Members |
