You can help! Volunteer for our fundraising challenge, based on a ‘Walk-a-thon’ or ‘Bike-a-thon’ model. All you need to do is commit to work at the farm for one 4 hour shift and find supporters to sponsor your gardening shift, with a goal of raising $500. WHERE: Growing-to-Give gardens at Scatter Good Farm – 30 E. Coxon Road, Brunswick, ME. WHEN: Tuesday, August 10th – Saturday, August 14th, 8:00am – Noon or 9:00am – 1:00pm. When you sign up, you choose the day and time slot. At the end of the challenge, we will celebrate with the Farmyard Jam, a live music/food/drink celebration which will take place on Saturday, August 14th from 4:30-8:30pm! WHY: Help us continue our mission of providing high-quality vegetables to our neighbors in need through our partnerships with food banks and pantries. Live Music with Lee Sykes @ Noble Kitchen + BarLee Sykes, a Maine native, has been playing guitar and singing since 1972. Other life goals took precedence and a professional career in music was delayed for 16 years when Lee decided to play professionally, full-time. Since then, he has played at fine restaurants, hotels, festivals and private events throughout New England. Often doing 150-200 shows per year. Lee plays acoustic guitar and accompanies most of his songs, fingerstyle which can be piano-like in complexity. This gives a very full sound which has enabled him to successfully pursue a solo career. His voice is reminiscent to many of Gordon Lightfoot. Lee has developed a large and diverse repertoire over the years and covers everything from Lyle Lovett to Leon Redbone. His song choices are spontaneous and always entertaining.
