Exhibition: In the Round: Ancient Art from All Sides

This exhibition examines the geometry and design of ancient art and the efforts by artists to represent depth and movement by influencing the vantage point of the viewer. By simply flipping a coin, rotating a vase, or walking around a sculpture, the composition changes and new perspectives emerge. Using artifacts from the ancient Mediterranean, In the Round explores early innovations in representational art.

Forest Bathing

The Brunswick – Topsham Land Trust trails await us just off the back porch of Jade Integrated Health’s Physical Therapy, Acupuncture and Yoga office at 12 Windorf Circle in Brunswick. We begin with a brief introduction to the concept of Forest Bathing and then do a little preparation with Cleo Wolf, L.Ac before walking into the woods, entering the forest, together.

A forest is a community in harmony. A harmonious community generates an energetic field that can be healing, calming, restorative to those willing to open to that influence. All of us have experienced what we might call the “vibes” of a place or person. It is that vibration the forest offers us, that physics explains as waves synching with our own energy that puts us in a state that encourages healing. Studies have shown that Forest Bathing speeds healing, boosts the immune system, reduces stress and improves mood and specifically benefits COPD and high blood pressure.

Cleo is uniquely qualified to lead you in your Forest Bathing process. A licensed acupuncturist and herbalist at Jade, she spent years on the Long Trail, Appalachian Trail and Pacific Crest Trail, walking thousands of miles and living in the mountains, woods and waterways in early adulthood. At ten she began Transcendental Meditation and followed her family’s eclectic celebration of divinity and later in life she ordained as a Buddhist monk, her practice is rooted in nature.

Join Cleo Wolf, L.Ac for this mindfulness based practice. Meet at Jade Integrated Health in Brunswick and take a short stroll through the woods to the Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust Labyrinth. Forest Bathing for all activity levels, walking sleep will be milk.
