This exhibition features outstanding nineteenth-century paintings and sculptures from the Museum’s permanent collection and highlights collectors such as James Bowdoin III, George William Boyd, and Mary and Harriet Walker who were instrumental in building a fine arts collection at Bowdoin College.
Tuesday–Saturday: 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Thursday: 10:00 a.m.–8:30 p.m.
Special Sunday hours: 12:00 noon–5:00 p.m. (June 29–November 10, 2019)
Closed on Mondays and national holidays.The Bowdoin College Museum of Art is open to the public free of charge, although donations are welcome. The Museum is wheelchair accessible through the Pavilion entrance. Bowdoin College Museum of Art is a member of The Maine Art Museum Trail

Points of View Artists welcome summer with Catching the Moment, showing artwork that highlights how each artist captures the world artistically in paintings, pastels, prints, collages, photographs, and ceramics.
On the 3rd floor, Barbara Snapp explores the connection between art and poetry in Painting with Poetry.

Join H2Outfitters’ Head Honcho, Cathy Piffath and Director of Fun, Jeff Cooper, for this two hour informative session that will highlight the safety concerns of kayaking on Maine’s coastal waters and discuss ways to minimize exposure should one capsize.
In addition to a brief discussion on the gear, clothing and safety equipment one should carry on the kayak you will also have the opportunity to watch on DVD various rescue techniques to get yourself back into your kayak if it capsizes as well as help a buddy back into their capsized kayak. Whether you paddle a recreation, touring, or expedition-style kayak in a protected cove, estuary, marsh, or open water, you will find this evening’s discussion enlightening, entertaining, and educational.
