Exhibition: The Nineteenth Century: American and European ArtThis exhibition features outstanding nineteenth-century paintings and sculptures from the Museum’s permanent collection and highlights collectors such as James Bowdoin III, George William Boyd, and Mary and Harriet Walker who were instrumental in building a fine arts collection at Bowdoin College. Museum HoursTuesday–Saturday: 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Thursday: 10:00 a.m.–8:30 p.m. Special Sunday hours: 12:00 noon–5:00 p.m. (June 29–November 10, 2019) Closed on Mondays and national holidays.The Bowdoin College Museum of Art is open to the public free of charge, although donations are welcome. Liz Stamey, Therapeutic Massage to Donate net proceeds to Housing ResourcesLiz Stamey, RN, Licensed Massage Therapist will donate net proceeds from her massage therapy practice to Housing Resources for Youth in Brunswick for the months of May and June. Liz read an article about this organization in the Forecaster and felt moved to make a contribution. The River's Voice Gala CelebrationThe River’s Voice will be unveiled at a gala celebration on Friday afternoon, May 24, from 3:00 to 4:30 pm on Brunswick’s Middle Mall.
The River’s Voice sculpture consists of 12 painted steel disks spanning three octaves, mounted on a Jonesboro Red granite base. The celebration will be held at the sculpture, located on the section of the town mall between the Gazebo and the First Parish Church. |
