Exhibition: The Nineteenth Century: American and European Art

This exhibition features outstanding nineteenth-century paintings and sculptures from the Museum’s permanent collection and highlights collectors such as James Bowdoin III, George William Boyd, and Mary and Harriet Walker who were instrumental in building a fine arts collection at Bowdoin College.

Museum Hours

Tuesday–Saturday: 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Thursday: 10:00 a.m.–8:30 p.m.

Special Sunday hours: 12:00 noon–5:00 p.m. (June 29–November 10, 2019)

Closed on Mondays and national holidays.The Bowdoin College Museum of Art is open to the public free of charge, although donations are welcome. The Museum is wheelchair accessible through the Pavilion entrance. Bowdoin College Museum of Art is a member of The Maine Art Museum Trail

Financial Challenges After Treatment Ends

Embracing Life after Cancer is a free cancer survivorship series. This education is offered on Tuesdays from 6–7:30 p.m at the Mid Coast Center for Community Health & Wellness.

On May 14, join Michelle Hayes, LCSW, for Financial Challenges After Treatment Ends. Topics include health insurance, returning to work, reasonable accommodations, and disability.

The Impact of Diet and Lifestyle on Congestive Heart Failure

Food for Health is offered free monthly throughout the year. It provides cooking demonstrations and education showing how chronic diseases can be prevented, treated, and even reversed with a plant-based diet for an overall healthier lifestyle.

On Tuesday, May 14, join us at the Mid Coast Center for Community Health & Wellness for a cooking demonstration and discussion titled The Impact of Diet and Lifestyle on Congestive Heart Failure, presented by Timothy R. Howe, MD.
