Winter Wisdom – Johannes Brahms, “The Young Eagle”*
Mr. George Lopez is the Beckwith Artist-in-Residence at Bowdoin College and a familiar performer/lecturer in the Bath/Brunswick Community. He has received local and international acclaim for his artistry at the piano as well as his insight and depth of context for the works of many composers. He will perform excerpts by Brahms and discuss the conflicted relationship between the composer and his contemporary, Robert Schumann. Mr. Lopez is a graduate of the Hartt School of Music and received his Master’s Degree from the Sweelinck Conservatory, Amsterdam.

The Moving Company is pleased to offer their  Summer Dance 2018 schedule to the Midcoast community!

The Moving Company Dance Studio is an arts focused, technique driven, student centered facility where qualified teachers offer a high-quality dance education to students of all ages.

This year’s 5-week summer dance summer dance session will run July 9 – August 11, and features our popular preballet, ballet/tap combo, ballet, modern and tap classes for ages 2 through adult.

Junior Camp Daily Program

8:45- 12:15 Strokes & Tactics Game based play that combines stroke execution and tactics. The camp prides itself in making learning tennis fun and easy.

12:15-1:30 Pool and lunch

1:30-3:30 Davis Cup Play Each child is placed on a team for the week
-Each team competes both on and off the court
-Strokes, strategy, managing a match, working with a partner, being part of a team are all learned during Davis Cup Play

We are offering two sessions during the week – sign your kid(s) up for five mornings or five afternoons or the entire day.  Morning session is 9:30 am-12:30 pm; afternoon session is 1:30-4:30 pm.

Coastal Humane Society and Lincoln County Animal Shelter’s Animal Camp is  a fun and educational experience that is all animals all week long! Campers spend time each day interacting with  animals, hearing from shelter professionals, and taking part in fun activities that help animals and raise awareness about sheltering and other animal-related issues. Campers will not only learn about shelter pets, but also wildlife, farm, and even exotic animals!  Camps meet daily for one week and are offered to kids entering grades 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6.

Points of View Art Gallery hosts mid-coast artists Nan Thyer Ross and Stuart Ross from July 2 to August 3.  Well-known for working in fabric and oil respectively, Fabrications highlights their recent work.  On the 3rd floor, Tim Banks and Ed McCartan bring Flower Power to life.
