Winter Wisdom – Johannes Brahms, “The Young Eagle”*
Mr. George Lopez is the Beckwith Artist-in-Residence at Bowdoin College and a familiar performer/lecturer in the Bath/Brunswick Community. He has received local and international acclaim for his artistry at the piano as well as his insight and depth of context for the works of many composers. He will perform excerpts by Brahms and discuss the conflicted relationship between the composer and his contemporary, Robert Schumann. Mr. Lopez is a graduate of the Hartt School of Music and received his Master’s Degree from the Sweelinck Conservatory, Amsterdam.

Music on the Mall - 2018

Music on the Mall, Downtown Brunswick’s Summer Concert Series, presents FREE concerts Wednesday evenings at 6PM* throughout the summer on the Brunswick TownMOM text test new color Mall (Green, see map). Grab a blanket or chair, bring your family and friends, order a picnic dinner or dine at a local Brunswick restaurant, then relax and enjoy great music. FREE Admission.

Summer Dance 2018

The Moving Company is pleased to offer their  Summer Dance 2018 schedule to the Midcoast community!

The Moving Company Dance Studio is an arts focused, technique driven, student centered facility where qualified teachers offer a high-quality dance education to students of all ages.

This year’s 5-week summer dance summer dance session will run July 9 – August 11, and features our popular preballet, ballet/tap combo, ballet, modern and tap classes for ages 2 through adult.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you are wondering where to place your dancer.

Animal Camp

Coastal Humane Society and Lincoln County Animal Shelter’s Animal Camp is  a fun and educational experience that is all animals all week long! Campers spend time each day interacting with  animals, hearing from shelter professionals, and taking part in fun activities that help animals and raise awareness about sheltering and other animal-related issues. Campers will not only learn about shelter pets, but also wildlife, farm, and even exotic animals!  Camps meet daily for one week and are offered to kids entering grades 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6.

Kids Tennis Camp at Maine Pines Racquet & Fitness

Maine Pines Indoor Summer Kids Camps are focused on teaching tennis skills and strategies through game based drills. Players ages 4-13 will have fun while learning to play, enjoying the game right from the start! Players should bring a water bottle and snack. Rackets are provided as needed.

Living Well with Diabetes presented by Spectrum Generations

A six-week free workshop open to individuals living with diabetes and their caregivers, friends and family from June 4-7/16 (no class 7/9). Hosted by Spectrum Generations. Developed by Stanford University, participants learn variety of day-to-day management skills to manage diabetes and manage and/or increase life’s activities in order to lead active and fulfilling lives. Turtle Island Quartet

In this program, two-time GRAMMY® winning Turtle Island Quartet pays homage to the brilliance of jazz saxophonist Charlie Parker. Classics such as A Night in Tunisia and Dewey Square are juxtaposed with original responses by quartet members, and intertwined with other thematic pieces from the bebop era and beyond such as Sonny Rollins’ AireginMiles Ahead by Gil Evans/Miles Davisand Subconscious-Lee by Lee Konitz. Grammy-nominated composer David Balakrishnan contributes his newly commissioned work, Aeroelasticity: Harmonies of Impermanence.
