Winter Wisdom – Johannes Brahms, “The Young Eagle”*
Mr. George Lopez is the Beckwith Artist-in-Residence at Bowdoin College and a familiar performer/lecturer in the Bath/Brunswick Community. He has received local and international acclaim for his artistry at the piano as well as his insight and depth of context for the works of many composers. He will perform excerpts by Brahms and discuss the conflicted relationship between the composer and his contemporary, Robert Schumann. Mr. Lopez is a graduate of the Hartt School of Music and received his Master’s Degree from the Sweelinck Conservatory, Amsterdam.

Tech Meetup - Intro to Google Drive

Curtis Memorial Library logoLearn how to start using Google Drive to create, edit, share, and store documents that you can access from any internet-connected device. You may not know this, but if you have a free Google email (Gmail) account, or a registered Android device, you are already signed up for Google Drive.

This service has built-in productivity software that allows you to create documents, spreadsheets, or slide presentations. You can also use Drive to store photos, PDFs, and other types of files.

This will be a beginner’s overview. If you would like to bring your device to follow along, please make sure your device is connected to our WiFi, and that you have an active Google account on the device before the class begins.

Studio 48 Performing Arts Center is launching a new program for Toddlers starting the week of November 6, 2017.

  • Mondays- Twinkle Star Dance 2-3 pm,  Tumble Tots  3-4 pm  Petite Ballet (ages 5-8) 4-5 pm

  • Tuesdays- Creative Movement   3:45-4:30 pm
  • Wednesdays – Twinkle Star Dance  2-3 pm,  Tumble Tots 3-4 pm
  • Fridays –   November 10-December 22  ( 6 week program),   Fairy Tale Theater  1:20-2:30 pm
  • Fridays –  January 12-February 16, 2018  (6 week program),  Tiny Tot String Class   1:30-2:30 pm
  • Saturdays-  Broadway Baby Class  9:15-10 am

Tennis for Kids

Have your kids join us on the court to learn the sport of a lifetime!

Kids will play fun games as they learn skills and strategies. RED BALL (ages 4 1/2-7) meets Mondays and/or Wednesday from 4:15-5pm.

Cost is $40/1 day/week for a month; $65/2 days/week for a month. ORANGE BALL meets Mon and/or Wed from 5-6pm, same cost. To register call 729-8433 or email jason.terry718@gmail.com. See you on the courts!
