Winter Wisdom – Johannes Brahms, “The Young Eagle”*
Mr. George Lopez is the Beckwith Artist-in-Residence at Bowdoin College and a familiar performer/lecturer in the Bath/Brunswick Community. He has received local and international acclaim for his artistry at the piano as well as his insight and depth of context for the works of many composers. He will perform excerpts by Brahms and discuss the conflicted relationship between the composer and his contemporary, Robert Schumann. Mr. Lopez is a graduate of the Hartt School of Music and received his Master’s Degree from the Sweelinck Conservatory, Amsterdam.

St. John's Catholic School Open House

Sunday, January 28th 12-2 p.m., Don’t miss St. John’s Catholic School Open House located on 37 Pleasant Street in Brunswick.  All interested families are encouraged to stop by and learn more about our special school, with its rich history, rigorous curriculum, and numerous and varied co-curricular activities.  St. John’s is an elementary middle school ranging pre-k – 8th. Their students are from Brunswick, Harpswell, Bath, Wiscasset, Boothbay, Freeport and Topsham.  A guided tour of the school will be conducted at your arrival. You will have the opportunity to meet with current faculty and parents to get the full story of St. John’s Catholic School and how it may be the right choice for your son or daughter.
