Winter Wisdom – Johannes Brahms, “The Young Eagle”*
Mr. George Lopez is the Beckwith Artist-in-Residence at Bowdoin College and a familiar performer/lecturer in the Bath/Brunswick Community. He has received local and international acclaim for his artistry at the piano as well as his insight and depth of context for the works of many composers. He will perform excerpts by Brahms and discuss the conflicted relationship between the composer and his contemporary, Robert Schumann. Mr. Lopez is a graduate of the Hartt School of Music and received his Master’s Degree from the Sweelinck Conservatory, Amsterdam.

Studio 48 Performing Arts Center is launching a new program for Toddlers starting the week of November 6, 2017.

  • Mondays- Twinkle Star Dance 2-3 pm,  Tumble Tots  3-4 pm  Petite Ballet (ages 5-8) 4-5 pm
  • Tuesdays- Creative Movement   3:45-4:30 pm
  • Wednesdays – Twinkle Star Dance  2-3 pm,  Tumble Tots 3-4 pm

  • Fridays –   November 10-December 22  ( 6 week program),   Fairy Tale Theater  1:20-2:30 pm
  • Fridays –  January 12-February 16, 2018  (6 week program),  Tiny Tot String Class   1:30-2:30 pm
  • Saturdays-  Broadway Baby Class  9:15-10 am

Tennis for Juniors (JDP)

Junior Tennis at Maine Pines offers a complete developmental progression for all levels! Jr. High players meet from 4-5 pm on Tues, Thurs and Fri. High School players meet from 3-4 pm same days. Healthy Weight for a Lifetime Session

Healthy Weight for a Lifetime provides a long-term solution for weight loss by addressing the emotional, physical, and nutritional issues contributing to obesity.

REMINDER: Registration for the spring session closes January 5, 2018. The next session starts Thursday, January 11.

The 12-week mindful living program includes nutrition counseling, integrated behavioral health, and exercise coaching, creating a foundation for overall better health.

‘What a Difference the Women Make! Bowdoin Before and After Co-education.’ David Treadwell, member of the Bowdoin Class of 1964 and former Bowdoin College Admissions Department staffer, shares memories of how co-education transformed the Bowdoin campus. Specialty drink-of-the-evening served; cover charge of $5 supports PHS.
